Hello
What should we choose for our ceilings?

Plastering and painting take a lot of time when it's 3x110m2, with some parts nearly 4m at the ridge.

We are looking for solutions that are plaster and paint-free and preferably not chipboard.

I've searched high and low on the internet and forums without finding anything but laminated chipboard :-(

Does anyone know if there are other alternatives available in Sweden or nearby countries?

We will have ceiling-mounted spotlights in many rooms, so paper ceilings are not an option.

Grateful for tips

An option that I will probably use is regular rough-cut planks, which we paint before installation. You can leave 3-5mm between them, creating a natural shadow, and the dimensions will probably be between 22 X 95 mm or 28X120.

This way, you avoid having to plaster, fill, sand, fill, sand, paint, paint at ceiling height. Another option for the planks is to put up a black plastic/fiberglass sheet before the planks, then it will always be black in the gaps.

Regards, John

There are white ceiling panels in some kind of masonite/tretex/mtrl, I think it was Huntonit that had them, bought at Woody in any case, for mom...

Hornbach probably has huntonit or at least something similar that isn't chipboard. Will go with that in the hallway, kitchen, and living room... 69kr/sqm...
