Where can you buy the kind of drop ceiling used in offices/schools, etc.? The ones constructed in a frame with square pieces that can be lifted down afterward. I'm asking because I'm considering installing a row of these in the basement to hide all the cables from the electrical panel and some water pipes... but still have the option to lift them down afterward if I need to pull a new cable. What is this type of ceiling called? Where can you buy it? Is it difficult to install? Best regards M

The ceiling is a typical nice suspended ceiling. Commonly referred to as a "grid ceiling," there are several brands and types... First, the framework, i.e., the metal pieces that form the squares... There are 2 types T16 and T24, which are the measurements of the profile. These are made by numerous suppliers. Then there are 2 major suppliers of the tiles. Ecophon and whatever they're called, Roxull? or something like that. You should be able to purchase the frameworks at one of the larger hardware stores like Beijer, Nordström, or even Fredells... Otherwise, you can call Ecophon and check.

It's easy to install... However, it requires a certain precision with the horizontal level, but that's no problem... Use a water level if you don't have a proper laser... Also, don't install it too tight against installations, as that will cause problems when dismantling and mounting the tiles.
