In an extension of our house with a basement, we are building a home spa of 32 sqm.
We will have a custom-built permanent bath, alternatively, we might set up a prefabricated Spa bath. The walls and floor are made of solid concrete and will be sealed with a diffusion-open rolled waterproofing layer, and the ceiling is a Peva composite deck.
I would like some tips on good and stylish ceilings to use in a space that will periodically be very humid, but should still serve as a comfortable and attractive environment for socializing.
The room is ventilated as part of the house's FTX system, but I have installed a 200mm duct fan on a separate switch right above the bath for forced ventilation that will run when the cover is off. I might also install controlled dampers on the FTX ducts to prevent moisture from entering the house's system, but I have not evaluated that yet.
So, tips on stylish ceilings..
I have considered everything from larch wood slats to various types of plasterboards, click ceilings, or acoustic tiles, so I am open to suggestions. Preferably with product links.
I had made an installation layer with 45 studs and then covered it with slats with 2-3 mm gaps, maybe molding strips (available ready-made in white, pine, or clear lacquered oak (just nail it with a brad nailer). Think of it like a wooden deck but on the ceiling. Clear lacquered ones might be a bad idea considering the moisture since they aren't lacquered on all sides... A fan and other things can be hidden above. Embed some LED lights, about 25mm or so.
