I have a garage with a storage area. Today it is completely open up to the ridge, so I'm thinking of fixing an insulated ceiling at least in the storage area (4 x 3 m) now before winter. The idea is to cover it with plasterboard. Lots of questions now :)

What materials do I need? Dimensions of ceiling joists? Distance between joists? Thickness of insulation?

I've searched a bit for articles online without finding any good description.

It depends a bit on how it looks and whether you want to use the space up there for storage. I would probably put up 45x145 on cc 600 if there is something to attach them to, suspecting the rafters are on cc 1200 and then spaced with cc 300. Insulation thickness as desired and needed, 145 at the bottom and then roll out more if necessary.

Then you have to solve the air gap along the outer roof as well, but that depends on how it looks today.

You have trusses there now, don't you...

How are they designed? What timber dimension and what cc measurement, for example.
