Hello! I'm new to the forum and hope to get some help with a few questions.

I have removed an old floor drain from the concrete floor in my bathroom and have a new drain installed. I now need to cast the new drain in place.

1. What type of concrete should I use?

2. How long should I expect it to take for the concrete to cure/dry sufficiently so that I can proceed with laying tiles (and possibly underfloor heating)? The floor thickness is about 20 cm with a basement below.

3. Any other general tips?

Regards,
Niklas

there is quick-drying concrete that you can apply waterproofing to after a day or so and less expensive concrete that has a drying time of 3-4 weeks depending on how thick you lay it
I have personally used Ardex A35 mix with good and quick results.... it becomes expensive if you are casting large quantities though

If you have large holes, you can first cast with aps-cement, then a fine batch with Quick concrete.
