Perhaps it is somewhat visible in these pictures, I made the blocks "hang" a little more outside each other for each layer to get them under the door. I started the first layer by cutting out one corner to get over the drainage strip, and then continued.

I have "only" put reinforcement rods between the bottom and second layer. Right or wrong, I don't know...

  • Stacked concrete blocks forming steps in front of a house door, with each layer slightly protruding, part of a building project.
  • Concrete step assembly in progress, showing staggered blocks creating an overhang, with tools and building materials in the background.
  • Concrete blocks stacked in front of a black door with a wreath, partially hanging over each other in layers. Blue plastic pipe on top, construction materials visible.

Planning a new staircase, model "pyramid staircase," for a house with a basement foundation after drainage about 2 years ago. This makes it a relatively large piece.
Whatever and however you make the staircase itself, I have a serious piece of advice:
Put up railings/handrails that lead from ground level up to the front door!
Older wobbly people, and sometimes even younger ones, need some support to hold onto when they wobble up or down such stairs.
It must not be open on three sides without something to help visitors stay on their feet and maintain their course!

the idea was to have a railing (wrought iron) diagonally in one corner or along one side of the facade, we shall see!

Moving forward :)

New driveway and the stairs are being covered. First laid a thin layer of fine concrete. Came across a cheap batch of 60x90x3 cm granite (second grade) at flisby, a lot of cutting but it feels worth it!

  • Front entrance steps and paved driveway under construction, with granite tiles being laid. A broom and plastic buckets are visible on the side.
  • Newly constructed driveway and steps with gray granite tiles; green tarp covering nearby, ladder and tools visible on lawn.
