Hello!
I have just installed a new stove. There is already a stove in the house. However, I don't know anything about houses and construction, so I thought I'd ask if anyone can help me here. Can I just start tearing down the old one? What should I keep in mind?
It's a single-story house.
Grateful for any answers.

Most likely, it is loosely positioned and can just be knocked down.
Drawings make it easier to assist you.
We cannot see if there is a chimney flue in the wall or if what we see is all there is.
When our chimney was demolished, I started on the roof and tore down the chimney brick by brick to the basement. In total, about 4 tons of bricks and mortar.
Roof decking needed nailing and the roof sealed, etc.
The ceiling fixed, and insulation and sealing in the attic as well.
New walls were framed and drywalled.
It took three people about a week (long days) to complete the work.

Since you have installed a new stove, the chimney sweep will inspect it... The chimney sweep should be able to give you a good indication of how you can proceed to dismantle the old stove.Emmasstuga said:
