Considering placing a jacuzzi, i.e., a hot tub that is constantly filled with water, indoors on the ground floor above the basement. We are looking at one that is about 2*2 meters, and the weight with water will be around 500 kg/m2.

Can you place such a jacuzzi on a wooden joist floor, dimension 170mm, cc 300? The joists where the tub is to be placed are about 2 meters long and rest on an outer wall (lecawall) at one end and in joist hangers at the other (which are nailed to a wall-supported double joist that also partially has a load-bearing wall beneath it).

Can it handle the load? How can one ensure this? Is reinforcement required with, e.g., blocking or in another way? How can one best reinforce a wooden joist floor?

The floor structure itself can handle the load without any issues. The problem might be the nailing of the joist hangers. If you can place a wall plate underneath and support with some studs, you can be completely sure.

sounds both good and a bit problematic, because I can't access under the beam hangers, there are now gypsum boards that make up the ceiling, however open upwards, can that help?

Is the plaster not against the beams from underneath?
Or if they are on spars, there should be one out towards the wall, and then you should be able to support there at least.
Otherwise, what does the nailing look like, how many nails hold up each joist hanger? I'm not exactly up-to-date with nailing connections, but maybe I can brush up on my knowledge.

1. I can't provide support from below; that space is now occupied and I can't change anything there.
2. The number of nails in the joist hanger, I think it's about 8-10 in each hanger, maybe barely half of the holes are nailed.

Is it appropriate to nail in all of them, is more nails=more durability, or is there a risk that nails will come too close to each other and therefore reduce durability, this I don't know.

Can I add kortlingar to make it more durable?

Just a little curious. Why should it always be filled with water? :-?
