I have replaced the doors in the house, and in the bathroom, there was a rather odd door before that seems custom-made due to its height, and I have replaced it with a new one. But then I encountered the issue that the tiles need to be cut about 3 cm above the door on the inside.
Can I use this cutting disc (see image) and cut with the angle grinder, or will the tiles crack?

And if it doesn't work, what do you recommend?

Diamond blade for cutting tiles with an angle grinder, labeled Tamo DIY, on a patterned surface. Packaging provides specifications and safety instructions.

Will work, but will smoke/dust like hell. There are also smooth discs without slots, but I think it's all the same for how fine the cut will be. Jula has cheap and good diamond cutting discs.

Thanks, yes I understand the dust will come. But I don't have much fixed furniture in the bathroom so I'll empty it to easily clean up afterwards.

I was mostly afraid to just try with that disc without checking with people who know better so I don't end up cracking all the tiles.

And the cut doesn't need to be nice, just straight enough to be covered with casing later.

Ok, then it will go well, it's like cutting through butter.

That went super well. Crazy fast. Then I used the heavy-duty vacuum cleaner right behind the blade, so surprisingly little dust was in the room.

How did the cut compare to a completely smooth cutting disc... were there chips in the tiles or? Did it turn out even and nice?

Only tried this disc and it was a perfect cut. There was a chip or two, but that was because I messed up and accidentally angled the blade.

Which angle grinder do you have? I'm planning to use one myself, so I'm curious, how did you manage to get straight cuts:)?

A cheap "meec" from Jula, so nothing special. As long as I held it straight, it went fine, but I happened to look away for a moment, and then there was a small chip because I angled the machine. Just draw a line to follow, and there shouldn't be any problems.
