A wooden attic ceiling structure with visible beams and weathered boards, possibly in need of renovation or modification for a slanted roof design. A wooden beam with a red X mark and lines indicating a proposed cut. Attic room under renovation with slanted beams, exposed wooden walls, and a window. A beam marked in red is in question for removal.
I want sloped ceilings all the way up to the "ridge" and I'm wondering about this. Can I cut it flush with the wall on the right?

  • Attic renovation with exposed wooden beams, a window in the center, and unfinished walls. User asks about adjusting rafters for vaulted ceiling potential.
  • A close-up of a wooden beam with visible cracks and wear, part of a construction project considering modifications to create an angled ceiling.
No, you shouldn't do that.
At the same time, it's a bit difficult to see with the few images.
Otherwise, it does look nice with visible beams!

I was also thinking about keeping it. It is a bathroom so it will be a bit of a special solution then. Otherwise, it will have to be a ceiling there.
