Hello!
I am renovating the roof of a summer cottage. It is a shed roof.
The idea was to put metal sheeting on the roof. But now I'm starting to consider concrete tiles instead.
The question is what my LVL beams used in the roof can support.
The beams have dimensions of 45X360mm.
The center-to-center distance between the beams is 1200mm
Width of the cottage (span) is 4900mm
Length of the cottage 9550mm
Roof pitch 15 degrees
Snow load zone 1.5

There is tongue and groove decking on the roof, and the roof will also be insulated.

Does anyone have some knowledge about this or a link to a calculation program?

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the Byggahus forum!

There are plenty of links to strength data for Kerto beams online. For example, this one:
https://www.metsawood.com/se/kerto-lvl/Pages/default.aspx
The Kerto beams have a type designation that you must know to find the correct values. So, the measurement information alone is not enough. The strength is in the same range as glulam.

Thanks for the link.
The only thing written on the beams is Ultralam Aug 2015. I bought them on blocket, so I don't know more..

I know that Moelven had a calculation program earlier, where you could input your measurements and roof angles, etc., and then find out which dimensions are required. However, I can't find that page anymore.

Ultralam are Russian beams. They have a website with the address ultralam.com. There you can find technical specifications. If the beams lack a type designation, you can always consider them as belonging to the weakest category. However, it requires some knowledge of strength of materials to be able to interpret the specifications. The weight difference between metal roofing and concrete tiles is not very significant compared to normal snow loads. Especially if the house is located further north. Clay tiles are significantly lighter than concrete tiles. The variation between different manufacturers' concrete tiles can be quite large.
