I'm also considering whether I should buy the entire frame that I planned to build up in suporex. Do you think it could be worthwhile to buy all the blocks for this in Poland?
The house will probably be 1.5 stories and in a new functionalist style...

I have a tough question ;-)
I'm going to renovate old chimneys and I'm having trouble finding bricks with style, so I'm looking for bricks with a slightly older appearance (slaget). It seems scarce at the building supply stores above. I would be grateful for some addresses for brick suppliers.

Is it still profitable to buy building materials in Poland, Estonia or Germany???

I think it's true. Today there are also different companies that organize "shopping trips" to Poland. For example, look at www.handlaipolen.se.

Hello!

I have been reading through the thread for an hour. Most posts are very old, so I thought I'd check with those of you who have some info if it's still profitable to go down to Poland?

The things I plan to buy are: Roof tiles, tiles, flooring, windows, and possibly appliances if the prices are right.

Is it possible to arrange shipping via, for example, Castorama when you're there? My spouse and I are going down within 6 weeks and will buy everything on-site. The problem, as mentioned, is just the shipping home, since it will be such large loads, and you ideally want to buy everything at once to get some discounts.

Thanks in advance!

Best regards

Anyone who has recently bought materials in Poland and knows the price range? Anyone who has shopped in Latvia?

Hmm.... solar cells are cheap right now (Germany) ... but often it is complicated and expensive with shipping to Sweden ... if you cannot transport yourself.

Ewald how cheap are they? any you can recommend?
any good site to buy from?

Often you don't even need to be on-site if you want to buy abroad. If you want to buy tiles, flooring, wallpaper, etc., it is a bit difficult to shop without seeing the product IRL first.

Often it is even fine to shop online, but prepayment is generally required. Some people are critical of this. As an alternative, credit card or PayPal also work.

Shipping within Europe takes about 3-4 days, but for example, from Germany to Austria, it sometimes doesn't even take 2 days.

@ hey

There are new stock lots. Different prices for different brands. Then you need to take a "position"... there are prices from 1.25 EUR per W + shipping.

Well-known brands like Schüco, Sayno, LG, ... however, this is sold by a "private individual" which means no warranty.

Company: The cheapest available are around 0.75 to 0.8 EUR incl. German VAT + shipping... thin-film solar cells. But with this seller, you can even have individual panels.

@ hey

Aleo has a lot. However, he sells privately.

For example,

These seem good, but only 5 pcs left.

[Schüco MPE 205 PS poly 205 Wp 5 pcs P19 32.80 8.40 26.90 7.59 1495 1001
Then there are several others.

SunPower SPR WHT
300 Wp 7 P18 64.00 5.87 54.70 5.49 1559 1046 (7 pcs left)

[S-Energy SM-225PA8 225 13 P16 36.60 8.25 29.70 7.60 1620 980 (13 pcs left) ... etc

a bit difficult to know which ones are the best...

the supply in China is really enormous... but difficult to buy there...
it's a gamble... can't test them beforehand

Generally speaking, monocrystalline are the best (highest efficiency). But polycrystalline are only slightly worse (maybe 1 to 3%) in terms of efficiency.

Thin-film cells usually have lower efficiency.

But the modules are tested, and you know how many Wp a module has.

The Grätzel cell and organic cells have a limited lifespan as far as I know (but these are not such panels).

Usually, the manufacturer gives a certain warranty that the panel will provide a certain output for a certain time.

Well-known brands are Yngli, Schüco, Aleo, Mitsubishi, Sayno, CSI, EGING, ...

There are as many guys/businessmen, etc. as you could imagine on German forums selling something ;) ... a lot of disputes and counterfeit outputs, etc. too :D
