There are certainly threads on the subject, but I want to delve a little deeper into this topic of poorly built houses which I wrote about in this article:

The more I dig into this house, the more "patent solutions" I find, and I've started to understand the word "maintenance-free".
We purchased a Varbergshus, a group owned by Derome. We previously lived in an apartment also built by Derome and judging by the quality, I think of all the young people who are going to make their biggest investment in life, buying themselves a "dream house".
Do you know that everything labeled as "Maintenance-free" is truly maintenance-free!
Yes, it's entirely true because it's not possible to perform any maintenance on these parts, e.g., maintenance-free windows.
After 15-20 years, when these windows are rotten, you just cut them out and buy new ones!
Environmentally friendly to the max.
My best tip for all young people who dream of living in a house:
BUY AN OLD HOUSE AND RENOVATE CAREFULLY!!!!
You can even buy an old house and move it to a plot where you want the house.
What you get is a house built to last for generations (read hundreds of years) and built with old PROVEN TECHNOLOGY THAT IS ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY!!!!!!
And no "experts" suggesting "maintenance-free" details have ruined the house.

Strontus: Don't know if I mentioned either asbestos or lead in paints in my post, where did you get that from?S Strontus said:
Or is your comment a complement to my post about poorly built houses?
My point is that just because you buy an old house, it doesn't mean it's built with environmentally friendly techniques.B Broens said:
