Well, I know what mexitegel is, but mexisten beats me. Mexitegel is, as I understand it, a type of facade brick that is white and was very popular during a certain period. (Could it have been during the 70s?) My guess is that they are two words for the same thing.
Speaking of mexitegel, it was quite popular to put on thinner facade cladding that resembled mexitegel on "regular" houses to get a maintenance-free facade and a more modern mexi-look?

Hmmmm, maybe that's it. We are about to buy a house that has a facade in "mexisten" that is. In my little world, I have an image of mexitegel as a kind of half-plastered brick... How weird that sounded, did anyone understand what I mean? ;D So it’s a bricked façade covered with a thin layer of some thicker "mixture" of some sort. Technically complicated! ;Dsveno said:Mja, I know what mexitegel is, but mexisten beats me. This house has a façade of "mexisten" and it's basically regular bricks with visible mortar.
Jidder jidder, I will try to look for some bricks/stone if we buy the house (when... :
Maybe we should buy the house first... 8)
Googled a bit:
This is what it said in Sydsvenskan under the headline "Brick - what is it good for"
Mexitegel, on the other hand, is not a real brick but a block made of lime, sand, and crushed sandstone pressed together under high pressure.

I seem to recall that it was mentioned in the local newspaper last year that the Swedish production in Yxhult had ceased and that the future imported "stone" would not be as bright white......
Maybe someone else knows for sure?
Here are some facts anyway!

Hmm, it will soon have antique value on mexitegel. Is it still possible to buy such.... ??? Our house only has the lower level built with mexi, the rest is a wooden facade..... Was thinking if possibly maybe if one wants to create a completely maintenance-free facade with only mexi........sometime.... in the future....
