Could this gap have so-called asbestpapp? In the actual ventilation passage, no eternit duct is visible as far as I can see, or?

  • A hand opens a ventilation hatch with visible springs and possible asbestos; a toilet tank is seen below.

  • Open hatch revealing a dusty interior with metal springs and cobwebs, illuminated by a light source.
Answer no, tap on it and it will make a metal sound, usually made of cast iron.

Exactly. As you can see for yourself, there is no asbestos there. Older versions of the same valve were insulated with an asbestos sheet on the inside. Usually, it's long gone due to the wear and tear over time.

I have this in the garage exhaust air. Keeping it in active service as a cultural relic. It's difficult to get hold of real asbestos cardboard these days ;)
A vintage metal air vent with visible wear, mounted on asbestos board, featuring attached rusted springs, utilized in garage exhaust system.

This one is from the 60s so it could have been there.

Certainly. But with the passage of time, the insulation board has scattered to the wind.
