Butt joint drywall short end to short end
Need to splice drywall on an internal wall, short end to short end. The ceiling is high.
Can't find much about this, I guess I need to have a cross brace behind all the short ends?
Looked in all the guides, but there the drywall sheets go all the way up to the ceiling

You can have a beam behind, but a strip of OSB or other scrap works just as well.
You should not have OSB or k-plyfa under the entire surface layer just to prop up the wall if you have high ceilings!?
Then gypsum comes in 2400, 2500, 2700, and 3000 so the alternative is to choose gypsum that fits better. If you have higher than 3m, then of course, you must splice....

It is a low-sloping roof, so the height is only +90cm. I would have liked to have plywood underneath but there's no room because the wall is limited in thickness to just 65mm distance between the windows in each room. It feels sturdy now on the first side. I'll go with 330 gypsum for the other side. Thanks for the info.slacker said:
