Hello, new to the forum even though I've surfed around and followed many threads with interest, and have tried to gather information so that I wouldn't have to make this post. I hope I am posting in the right forum.
My questions concern the building you can see in the two pictures. It has been an old grain warehouse/storage and is mainly built on a stone cellar. What I'm wondering about is how I should insulate this building in the best way (I live in Uppland). Both the roof and the gables are tight against the beams all around, which raises the question of how I should deal with ventilation gaps. The roof consists of planks, roofing felt, masonite, and roof tiles.
How do you go about making sure the beams don't disappear during insulation... if I want 14-20 cm of insulation, then the beams would be covered hehehe, my wife and I have talked about "fixing" fake beams where they disappear so to speak to keep the "beam feel"...
Tips on how I should frame and insulate here would be nice, especially considering the presence or absence of a ventilation gap. We intended not to have an attic but as much sloped ceiling as possible. Since the walls (the boards) on the outside are against the beams, they are also just outside the stone cellar walls, so adding extra insulation or other work on the outside would look very odd if the walls stick out further than the stone cellar itself.
Grateful for answers or tips on how I should tackle this.
Thanks
