Thinking of building an outdoor staircase with regular wood so I can paint it, partly because I already have a lot of 50x100 rough sawn. How long can I wait before painting it? There will probably be a gap of up to a week before I can paint the new staircase.

And what should I do in places where it's difficult to reach for painting? That is, the rule against the wall and the underside of the steps? Is it enough to apply some paint there before I nail the staircase together?

I did, however, paint with an exterior primer. On the load-bearing beam and joists. It was oil-based and terrible and took several days to dry. Then I used faluröd on the remaining wood. But in retrospect, I think I could have used faluröd everywhere.
