I was wondering if anyone here has any insight. We have a terrace today that is glass-enclosed with a concrete slab, where we thought of expanding into a room instead so that the children can each have their own room.

It's a brick house but we plan to build the extension in wood instead, as it's easier and cheaper. But how do you make the transition between wood and brick?

What do you need to consider? Thinking about doing it myself to save money, feels like it's not such a big project after all. But there are a few things I'm not sure about. I'll attach a picture of how it looks now. But everything will be torn out except the foundation.

Cut away the brick where the extension will be. This way the wooden frame of the extension is attached to the house's frame. The brick wall is ventilated and will otherwise make the partition wall cold.
