In the house we are moving to, there is an "open staircase" - meaning you can see between the steps. It's not possible to choose a different staircase, but we might want to build a storage area under the staircase, which won't work if you can see between the steps. Does anyone know if it's somehow possible to fix this yourself after moving in (I can add that the steps themselves are made of oak)?
In addition to this, we will have low "railings" in three places (I don't really know how to describe them, but I would guess they are just over 80 cm high and they are white "spindles"). We would also like to enclose these completely (i.e., have perhaps an 80 cm "wall" there instead of the railings that are there today). Has anyone done something similar and knows how to proceed?

The staircase manufacturer that delivers the staircase should be able to provide parts that make the current staircase tight. Then you will get the same material and surface treatment as the existing staircase.
Thank you for the answer! The house we are moving to is a "standardhus" and there is no possibility to make this "option." We have two staircases to choose from, but it's primarily just the materials that differentiate them.
