Hello! I have a troublesome pipe cluster and visible electrical cables that I want to conceal. They are at different heights, and I don't want it to look strange. So far, the options are to frame with sparse studs and drywall or to install a drop ceiling only where the pipes and cables are.
I was thinking of adding 2 inspection hatches. How would you have done it? Any other materials? Pictures?
I think it seems like there's unnecessarily a lot of pipes, maybe a boiler has been placed there or something, perhaps it can be reduced a bit. The cables could be neatly clamped along the wall.
That's correct, the old pellet boiler has been there. All the plumbers who have been and looked at it have said that it can't be made much better. As for the cables, they are too short to be pulled to the edge, you don't want to splice them and pulling new ones would cost way too much.
Framing and drywalling will clearly be the cheapest if you do the work yourself. I guess office ceilings are quite expensive anyway to buy new. Maybe if you can get hold of second-hand.
At the pipe corner, it might be best to build a cabinet all the way down to the floor and use the lower parts for storage. It would be strange to just have a box sticking down from the ceiling with a space underneath that can't be used for anything sensible.
