We are renovating the kitchen. The fridge we are planning is an integrated fridge/freezer that will be placed in a metod cabinet for fridge/freezer. The left side of the cabinet will be right against a solid wall, but the back and the right side will be "freestanding."
Our plan is to put a panel on the back of the cabinet and have two 45x70mm studs on the right side and attach a panel to that. I tried to sketch it quickly below.
Green: Panels (what type??)
Blue: 45x70mm studs
Panel 1: 2700 x 620 mm
Panel 2: 2700 x 670 mm
It's time to buy materials this weekend, and I initially thought of using MDF. The wish was to use a simple panel, but I'm unsure if MDF can be painted directly.
What do you say, please share your tips!
PS. I have a 2700 x 900mm gypsum board at home that is unused, but I'm hesitant whether it's smart to use for durability.
Seems most appropriate to use cover panels. Forget the studs and attach the cabinet to the left wall.
Hi! Thanks for your response. We want our wall color on these sides and for it to look like a "real wall," so the plan was to use some form of boards instead of cover panels.

If you're going to paint them, then build in drywall just as easily. Cheaper.
Hello! Thank you for your answers. We decided to go with single plasterboard on the side with the studs and OSB + plasterboard on the back of the cabinet. It turned out great.
