Building boards 120x320 or longer are there?
Hello
Building with a 3 m ceiling height. Need boards with a length of 320 cm, type utegips, asfaboard, OSB, or plywood.
I've asked at the building supply store but there are no boards that long???
I find it strange since it's troublesome and results in poor quality when splicing.
Aren't there long boards available??

There are long boards, now the builders' merchant doesn't have them but the specialists do. The downside is you have to buy a whole bundle. Here you have 1220/3660 mmE EMats said:

Okay, 3 mm board is available in lengths 366 and 305 on that website. Funny width by the way 122 cm? Do you have to cut off 2cm? Strange that the building trade doesn't have different lengths. Handling sheets up to about 3.5 m is no problem and even longer sheets. You save a lot of time and it becomes tighter with whole sheets instead of jointing. The asfaboard I initially planned to buy for the exterior is only available in a length of 274 cm and that doesn't suit me. If you have to join, you need to add extra framing behind the joint, which takes time and probably isn't as tight.
There are joint strips for external gypsum, it keeps it tight.E EMats said:Okay, 3 mm board is available in lengths 366 and 305 on that website. Funny width by the way 122 cm? Do you have to trim off 2cm?
Strange nonetheless that the builders' merchant doesn't have different lengths. Handling sheets up to about 3.5 m is no problem and even longer sheets. It saves a lot of time and results in fewer joints with whole sheets rather than splicing.
The asfaboard I first considered buying for the exterior is only available in length 274 cm and that doesn't suit me. If you splice, you have to reinforce extra behind the splice and it takes time and probably won't be as tight.

Checked with the manufacturer of Asfaboard, Hunton. They state that they also have larger boards in size 12 m x 3 m!!!!
That sounds a bit too big, how do you actually handle 12 m boards? Moreover, the dimensions are not really well-suited to fit modules of 60 cm, like 1.2 m or 1.8 m in width. Perhaps if you cut 3 m x 3.2 m, you can get 3 such sheets from a 12 m length. A piece of about 3 m x 2.4 m would be left over...Hmmmm...It's probably not that simple.
Well, you probably have to splice regular boards then, but it would be better to have the right dimensions from the start.
