As the headline states, we are going to put up an interior wall in our 3-room apartment which is currently a 2-room. So basically not a big deal, but I thought I'd check if anyone knows what it might cost if you do it yourself versus buying the service?

The wall is roughly 4m long and 3m high. We are planning to install a recessed sliding door.

Can anyone provide an estimate or a link where one can plan the construction/cost?

Double framework is needed with some reinforcements to handle the forces.
Do you want plasterboard, double plasterboard, or OBS+plasterboard? A 3 m height results in some waste or extra studs.
You're probably already aware of the costs for the door with fittings. Do frames come included?
Building a framework with boards is something two guys can do in 2-3 days, I think.
Moldings are extra, material 500, labor 1500.
Painting or wallpaper: firm 2000 plus material.
Consider installing wiring in the wall for switches as well as for new recessed outlets.

No, I actually don't have a good handle on the doors either. The idea is just for it to be recessed but if it differs much from a "regular" door, then that will work too. We want the walls to be as thin as possible and were thinking of putting such a wooden board (particle board?) and then plaster if needed to facilitate mounting the child's TV, etc.

So basically, total price approximately for materials and then what a builder might charge, or if you do it yourself maybe... depends on the price, I think :)

Check for yourself on the door manufacturers' websites or the suppliers' websites to get an idea of the actual door.
Otherwise, there's a big risk that a construction worker will finance his Thailand trip with your lack of knowledge.

With double sliding door and craftsman it will cost at least 50 papp.

Google Pocketkarm because that's what a recessed sliding door is "called" in construction language. Fairly large variation in prices, but a couple of thousand for the frame, and then the door itself is extra. It can also vary quite a bit in price depending on whether you want solid or paper, mirrors, etc.

Other materials you can calculate pretty easily.

Google around a bit. Pocketkarm is what you mean by a recessed sliding door, a couple of thousand depending on size, then there's the door, which also varies quite a bit in price depending on the quality you desire. The wall construction itself costs about 200 SEK/m2, I believe people here on the forum have calculated (if you build it yourself). Then there's painting work and possibly an electrician if you want that included. And then the carpenter's hourly rate if you're hiring someone to do it. A little extra for travel time and material mark-up.

Thanks for the response :) Yeah, I looked around a bit and ended up, if I clicked correctly, with studs, screws, gypsum etc. for the wall costing around 3-4 thousand without a door or so, then the door would be extra depending on if I choose a regular door or a sliding door... saw one for 2k from swedoor.

My partner and I are currently trying to build a wall with a sliding door.
We bought a somewhat nicer model with glass mirrors as it will be the only light source; we also chose solid wood to better match the house.
We're currently at about 8,000-9,000 for the materials.
We haven't bought wallpaper or paint yet.

when we changed the floor plan last fall, I installed 2 sliding doors with frames from hornbach. the frame cost around 2000kr. watched the video on Bauhaus' website mentioned in the post above and it looks very similar. However, the installation instructions were terrible.

I went for the Bauhaus model for 6000:-, [link]

It was relatively easy to install with an open wall

and looks OK. Unfortunately, I don't have a picture with the door completely closed.

nice! Are the studs in the wall 70mm or 95mm?

120mm, wall against the former garage so it was an exterior wall. The cassette is for a 95mm wall which I extended to 120.

I have a wall with a 70 mm frame. Would it work?

Yes, but you need to find a built-in kit for 70 mm studs. That's actually what I have; 95 mm as I said is the finished width of the opening so the cassette is 70 mm.
