Building a Smaller Door in Oak

I'm going to build a smaller door in oak for my root cellar. Does anyone have any good tips? Oak is incredibly hard, and the last time I worked with it, I wore out drills and broke screws continuously.
Can you use steel drills, for example?
Which screws are best?
Has anyone done something similar so I don't have to reinvent the wheel?

Pre-drill all screws and above all, make sure to buy proper drills. There is a difference in drills, a cheap drill set from Jula works really poorly.
