I passed a couple of new houses when I was out cycling. The entire framework was made of metal studs. Two houses, one probably 70 m2 and a smaller one (attefall?) had sprung up in a couple of days. The foundations have been there, or worked on, for several months. The larger house had some sort of panels on the outside. It looked like everything was being clad tightly to then cut out holes for windows from the inside. On the small house, you can see that the metal studs are ready with holes for windows and doors. Can anyone think if it results in better or worse insulation value with metal than with wooden studs? Metal obviously conducts cold more, but the total surface area exposed is very small compared to solid wood. The picture is of the small house. Steel frame structure of a small house under construction in a forest area, with visible openings for windows and doors.
