Hello!

We would like to demolish this '80s trellis and instead build a half wall with a column. (See picture).

The question now is how we best attach the column to the floor and ceiling. Both to make it as stable as possible and also as neat as possible.
What material should we use for the column?
Any additional tips or things to consider?

See other pictures to see what it looks like currently.

Grateful for help :)

  • Kitchen area with a half-wall and pillar in open space, featuring white cabinets, brown flooring, and a window with a blind.
  • Wooden lattice partition from the 1980s in a room, with plastic sheets and renovation materials in the background.
  • Wooden 80s lattice and tiled floor labeled "GOLV," indicating the area for replacing with a half wall and pillar. Plastic and fabric seen in the background.
  • Wooden lattice from the 1980s attached to the ceiling, planned for replacement with a half-wall and pillar. "Tak" written on the image.
