Building a fence
I feel pretty confident that we shouldn't be building fences anymore. đ€Łđ€Ł
It's probably too complicated, expensive, and unnecessary.
We'll go for a thuja instead. Just need to decide on the height and we'll see what it comes to in the end đ

There are several types of Tuja, so check what they tolerate and how fast they grow. The soil type is important. Maybe visit a gardening forum and discuss a bit. I think it might give more than on this forum. Feel free to come back with something you could call the result of what you have decided. Good luck.

Brabant is the one you should go for if you want a dense and fast-growing, smaragd is more like a spruce broad at the bottom that tapers at the top..P Pappa1986 said:
Thuja involves a lot more work every year and 100 m is long when it needs to be trimmed.
To support a fence, you can do things like:
*planter boxes
*alcoves/recesses in the fence itself
*pergola along the fence
*a patio with fence/trellis perpendicular to the fence
*bike racks
*benches
*since it's rural, go for a roof to place the grill under.
and so on and so forth.

I see you've already received some tips in the thread, but here are a couple of good tips from Oskarsnickrar:P Pappa1986 said:Hey
I'm about to start building a wooden fence.
It will be about 2 meters high, the posts are 90Ă90 or 70Ă70 but that might be a bit weak.
But how do I attach the posts and to what?
Ground anchors, concrete bases, or dig holes and cast myself? The fence will be about 100 meters.
The boards will overlap so the wind can pass through.

One thing I think he forgets to mention is not to build a straight fence but a slightly zigzag one like he has done!

However, I have an overlapping fence like the one you plan to build. It's a hassle to maintain, so check if you can build something else, especially when you have so much!
300 thuja trees are ordered from the local nursery. 100-120 cm.
Experienced that many available online are unreliable, and have very bad reviews.
100:-/each + soil 3-4000 approx. + lots of hours of hand digging but will start early, delivery will take place in April.
As a privacy screen, we will order a 2 Ă25 m from visaxl for 1000:- and set it up temporarily against a neighbor until the hedge has fully grown.
Have a nice weekend everyone
