I am planning to build a dock on the rock by the sea. It's tricky to make a longer dock because it's not possible to get a good landing on the shore side. Additionally, I suspect it is a tough area as the ice pushes up in the winter.
Planned dimensions are 3.5 meters long, with 1.5 meters extending over the water and 2 meters wide. I plan to use 100x200mm beams.
I am thinking of building the dock like this:
I will need some form of brace right at the shoreline. At first, I thought of casting it, but I think the ice will remove such a construction. Therefore, I'm considering a brace made of threaded rod that will support the dock similarly to a prop. I will remove the threaded rod x 2 in the winter.
