Even though it is illegal to repurpose creosote-impregnated telephone poles for other uses. Moreover, in that case, one should like the stench if they are to have them close to where they often are.

Do they smell after many years outside?

Yes, at least when they are heated by direct sunlight. Have you never walked past standing telephone/electric poles in high summer heat?

Source on that?

You mean each beam is 3 pieces of 145x45 glued together. You have no support under that bridge; it's just 2 beams lying straight across? It will be great if it works with that dimension as the bridge otherwise becomes a bit cumbersome in height if you have a larger dimension, especially if you're going up to 220.
Exactly, and it works, especially since the walkway is in the same direction. If you build railings in truss form, the stiffness increases. The whole thing becomes a lightweight and intuitive design, the bridge in the picture was built in a machine hall and then transported on site with a wheel loader in one piece.

For creosote-impregnated wood to be sold on the secondary market and reused by private individuals, it must have been impregnated before December 31, 2002

I cut that out from there......

I'm thinking about an arched bridge...
I could probably get freshly sawn timber in most dimensions.
Could one make a jig where you bend down the timber while it dries?
Probably doesn't need to have a big rise, about 3-4dm over 5m.

A support in the middle and loops in the garage floor at the ends, where you tighten it a little now and then in the winter.
Maybe you would have to put one on each side of the middle a bit out so it doesn't turn into a V.

Would that work or should I just make a straight bridge?
