Build something nice around the stairs

Hello

I'm working on finishing up an attic with a sloped roof, and I'm almost done. There's one thing left, to build something nice around the trapdoor so no one falls down It's like a hole in the middle of the floor about 180*70cm.

I've been thinking about using something planed.

I'm completely out of ideas?

A nice iron fence? Can be ordered from abroad if it becomes too expensive in Sweden.
