I am planning to build a staircase for my porch.
The height is 50 cm and I would prefer the depth to be at least 1 meter.
Here is my thought:
Joists 45*145
Decking boards 28*120
Step depth = first and second step: 480mm.
last step: 240mm
What I'm worried about is that on the last step, I will be on the porch level and thus "extend" the porch floor. Will it look good or does anyone have another good solution?
Perhaps the step depths are too deep?
I should add that the staircase will be 3 meters wide.
I built a similar staircase for our summer house a number of years ago, see picture. For us, it works perfectly and we've never thought it looked odd.
