Build in "niche", "compartment" in the wall under sloping roof
Hi, I am considering building a built-in shelf where I can place books, a record player, and other items in my wall. The "niche" would then be under a smaller roof that belongs to the house. (See image)
Does anyone know what this is called for inspiration, and might any form of reinforcement be needed? Other tips are also welcome.

You want to make holes in a knee wall and put up shelves?
I would probably also call it a niche, of course it's possible, avoid the parts where the support legs are (one at each roof truss) can you get behind the wall?
How old is the house?
You want to keep the vapor barrier intact and insulate, so it's a clear advantage if you can get in and work from the right side. But it's a terrible job, cramped and damn.

If there is a vapor barrier, isn't it more likely on the roof side rather than the wall? It's a townhouse built in 1984.S Svanteman said:You want to make a hole in a support beam wall and put up shelves?
