I'm going to build a wooden beam for the kitchen that will be attached to the ceiling. We want one side to be openable. Which hinges are recommended and how do you keep the hatch closed? The beam will be quite long, about 6 m. Grateful for tips.

I was thinking of hinges that look like regular traditional, rectangular ones. I don't know how to make the recess for the ones you linked to. The board isn't very thick, 22mm.

A drilling depth of 13 mm is sufficient depending on the chosen hinge. Doors down to 16 mm thickness work with them.

Lamella hinge and an ejector with magnet.

Ok, then I'll have to look at them again. Thanks
