Hi, I had a question regarding the choice of panel material.
I have a room with plywood on the walls, planning to convert the room into a small game processing area and install tiles on the walls. However, I was thinking of skipping the waterproofing layer, as it shouldn't be wet in there. You might spray/wipe occasionally, but the moisture mainly ends up on the floor (concrete slab with tiles).
What type of board should I have behind the tiles? I’ve looked at both Fermacell and moisture-resistant plasterboard, it feels like you should at least have something that doesn't mold if it gets damp after all? Preferably, it shouldn’t be too expensive.

Without a waterproof membrane, perhaps it is best to avoid flushing altogether? You have the joint between the wall and floor, which becomes the sensitive point...

Have you considered installing a wet room mat on the walls? It can be placed directly on the plywood...

I have a room with plywood on the walls, and I was thinking of turning the room into a small game slaughterhouse and putting tiles on the walls. However, I was planning to skip the moisture barrier, as it shouldn't be wet in there. You might rinse/wipe occasionally, but the moisture will mainly be on the floor (slab on ground with tiles).
What type of board should I have behind the tiles? I've looked at both Fermacell and moisture-resistant gypsum board, and it seems like you should at least have something that doesn't mold if it gets damp after all? Preferably, it shouldn't cost a fortune.
There are also fibo tresbo and similar products. Which work excellently with plywood.

I haven’t really considered a wet room mat before, haven’t worked with it before, but maybe it’s not so complicated to install. Just gluing, really, don’t you have to join the seams with heat between the mats?

All the walls stand on a 100mm concrete plinth, and the wall "hangs out" a few cm beyond it, so any water on the wall runs down and drips further down onto the floor. The part that hangs out will be unprotected, but it seems quite unlikely that moisture will get there. The floor will be mopped and the walls wiped with a cloth 99 times out of 100.

But what about installing a wet room plasterboard and then tiling directly on it? How do you handle the seams then?
