Hi forum. I'm going to tile a section above and beside the stove. Most recommend tiling on drywall, but I'm going to tile on a boat where drywall isn't very suitable. There seem to be two camps when it comes to tiling on primed chipboard. But is there any other board that someone can recommend?

If you want something completely free from organic materials, perhaps a fiberfippskiva could be an option?

Or a board with an EPS core, e.g., Jackon or equivalent. Adapted for wet rooms and completely inorganic.

What difference does it make if there is chipboard behind the tiles by a stove?
