Didn't find a perfect forum section for this question, so I'll post it here.

I need some inspiration. I want to secure my bike against a retaining wall I have. I'm also planning to arrange a way to pull a tarp or something similar over it in the future to protect it from the worst of the rain and snow.

What I need some tips on is how to make a fixture in the retaining wall (which is cast-in-place concrete) that I can lock the bike to.
I could get a galvanized metal piece that I bend and attach with two expansion bolts to create a "loop" I can thread a bike lock through.
However, I'm wondering if there might be better/smarter/easier/standardized ways to do this.

Anyone who has done something similar, or just has thoughts in general, and has experiences to share?

Tanned loops with threads already exist, so drill a hole and glue one there if you just want a loop. Just make sure to have enough clearance for the chain to go through.
The construction of the roof depends on its appearance, but it's about as easy to build a frame for a plastic roof as for a tarpaulin, and if it needs to last more than a year, it's approximately equally expensive.

Thanks, just realized that a boat ring attached with two expansion bolts (the ones I found with a quick Google search had two attachment points) will probably be perfect. The ring in one of those is big enough for my lock.

The idea with the tarp is not just a roof but something that will cover the bike completely. I’m thinking I can roll it up on the retaining wall and roll it down over the bike when it’s parked. I can't "afford" a roof hanging too much over the bike as it would take up space needed for the car. That part is an advanced step that I'll solve later.

I bought something like this and put it on the wall in a garage I had previously. Just to lock the bike that hung on the wall next to it.

Looked interesting. Priced similarly to a bow ring plus bolt but looks much tidier.

Exactly
