Betylduk as roofing felt?!

Hello, as the title suggests, I have a question about whether betylduk can be used as roofing felt.
It's for a garage that I'm going to build, and I have come across a large amount of betylduk which is completely free for me.

Shouldn't the rubber mass in the fabric fit nicely around the nails?

Do you mean as underlay felt or top felt?
It's doubtful whether butylduk can withstand UV light in the long run, but I'm not sure.

Tight it will be, but as Fred writes, you will probably need to protect it against UV radiation for it to stay tight in the long run.. Here you can be creative though.. wooden roof? Grass?

Primarily intended as underlay paper, but perhaps clear grass might have been an idea.
