I have two panels (each 55 cm high and 70 wide, with fairly sturdy hinges) on the inside of which I now plan to mount tool boards. I have "a lot" of tools (screwdrivers, hammers, hacksaws, etc.) and thought this could be a good place to store some of them with the added bonus of making it easier to find what I'm looking for compared to the various boxes in which I currently store tools.
I rank functionality as number 1, appearance as number 2, and price as number 3.
Which tool board do you think would be best for the purpose?

AJ Products has a sheet metal board with square holes for hooks etc.
Low-cost alternative Clas Ohlson, painted pegboard with small round holes for hooks etc.
Have both types, sheet metal where it is used most and pegboard where it is used more rarely.

The most practical approach is to set the tool board as a door so you can use it on both sides. Preferably with a sturdy frame so that the tools on the inside hang completely or partially on the door. At the bottom edge of the frame, make holes for Allen keys and slots for the tips of screwdrivers and chisels.
But then you probably also need to get new hinges.
