P-Place: What do these cost?
around 200:- incl VAT they should be and fit in std.mounts like Starret, Bahco, Biltema etc.

200 pickadållår is a real bargain. I must have one :)

Carpenter's workshop: That's one way to do it. Love the creativity in this forum.

I bought myself a hole saw. They didn't have any Luna in stock, but they did have Dewalt... 290 SEK haggled and settled for a 57mm hole saw and a holder for it.

  • Yellow Dewalt 57mm hole saw for woodwork, with sharp teeth and "use eye protection" warning, purchased for 290:- including a holder.
  • Drill bit and holder for a 57mm hole saw, resembling a DeWalt piece, on a plain background.
Congratulations! Now I'm a little jealous... Want one!

Good luck with the drilling!
Best regards,
Ronnie

What I noticed on the slightly cheaper ones was that the pin you are supposed to put in the "chuck" is completely round. It doesn't hold properly after a while, so it starts to spin. I got furious when I used one like that and spent a couple of hundred kronor on a "real" one :) that had beveled sides that gripped the drill.

Walter, he's a hexagonal one ;)

Starret also...
(available with several different mounts)

For me, it has worked well to first drill/saw halfway from one direction and then the other half from the other direction (the center drill hole guides the whole thing). I don't really know why, but maybe the friction from the sides affected it quite a bit.
