I have acquired an outdoor router for mobile broadband for the summer cottage. The plan is to mount it quite high up on one side of the gable. It runs on PoE, so only a network cable is needed. I plan to drill through the wall (wood paneling and gypsum on the inside) with a slight downward angle. Then insert a conduit and pull a network cable designed for outdoor use out to the router, and then inside the wall where I plan to install a network outlet so there isn't just a loose cable sticking out of a hole. Is it possible to make a recessed outlet in the existing wall in a neat way? Otherwise, it will have to be a surface-mounted one. On the outside, I might cover the protruding conduit with a junction box that I spray paint with a color as close to 'falu red' as I can find. Does this sound like a good idea, or do you have better solutions for making it look nice? The router itself might not be the most attractive, but it's necessary. However, I want to make the rest look as nice as possible both outside and inside.

Should work well to mount a senildosa in the wall on the inside so you get it recessed there. If you're going to have a TP cable outdoors, it should preferably be a cable made for it.

Then insert a VP pipe and then run an outdoor-rated network cable out to the router, then inside the wall where I plan to install a network outlet, so you don't have a loose cable from a hole. Do you really need to have the router outside? I had my 4g-router inside and it worked just fine.

Regarding the box, you can use a senildosa/rotdosa. Then you only need to drill with a hole saw.

I will test the outdoor router inside first, but I have tried several different indoor routers and the coverage is really terrible. An outdoor antenna would probably work too, but then there's still the issue with cable entry. Another drawback is that it's not very aesthetically pleasing to have the router indoors, both ends are bedrooms, so I prefer not to have more unsightly electronics than necessary there :).

If you buy such a box, you won't have to paint https://www.elbutik.se/product.html...P_g3ZQ55KjNHq00Veg7tovhFA11O4KbsaAhNJEALw_wcB
On the other hand, what kind of facade is it? If you really want it hidden, maybe you can loosen some facade boards and lead a flexible conduit inside the facade to the right place.
