Hello!

In our apartment renovation, it's now time to buy and put up some ceiling moldings. The problem is that we have a curved bay window, and I wonder if anyone has experience with this?

The size of the moldings we are looking at is about 120-140x120-140 mm, and the materials are styrofoam or polyurethane, which is a bit stiffer. I think the styrofoam might work if you secure the molding with screws or nails while the glue dries, but does anyone have experience with bending the stiffer moldings?

The sample pieces we ordered are so short that it's hard to tell, and the polyurethane moldings look much nicer.

The curve is not too aggressive. The wall is 4.7m long, and the curve is about 70cm deep in the middle.

Thanks in advance!

Five types of white crown molding samples made from polystyrene and polyurethane are displayed on a wooden table against a gray wall. Living room with curved bay window, chandelier, wooden floor, gray walls, sofa, and a table lamp. The ceiling shows molding area for installation.

What kind of moldings were there before?
Wooden moldings of a slightly smaller model.

In hindsight, how did it go bending the moldings and what did you ultimately choose? I have a similar problem.

I ended up making my own molding out of plaster. I cut out the profile in a piece of metal that I dragged along a rail. Reinforced with mesh.
Fun project!
