In our future bathroom, we have a wall that is framed at cc600 since it was intended to use double gypsum... Time goes by and regulations change, so now it should have been cc300. The outside, as seen from the bathroom, is wallpapered and finished, so adding more studs and screwing from both sides is not possible. What about installing metal studs with the "back" towards the bathroom, attached at the top and bottom? The wall is built with metal studs so it's easy to attach them.

Perhaps there are other suggestions?
