I wonder if it is okay to place a wooden stud against the outer basement wall if there are plastic spacers between the stud and the wall?

So there's no problem with placing the metal studs directly against the exterior wall, then? What would be best, to set them at 60 c/c or 30 c/c?

No problem, however, it usually doesn't become straight because of the wall's "natural" unevenness - metal studs are completely straight ;)

c/c 60 for a normal wall, like c/c 40 if you plan to hang heavy items on the wall. c/c depends a little on the width of gypsum and/or plyfa/OSB...

Thanks for the tips, now I can get started with my shower and sauna project :)

will return with some pictures later on :)
