Attic: are the support legs load-bearing?
I must start by apologizing for my ignorance and if terms are misused... But I have understood that the beams visible in our open attic space are called struts. We just bought a condo in a house from the 1930s and the previous owner built open storage in the attic space. We would like to create a better solution for this and essentially enclose the storage using low IKEA frames, but the struts complicate that project a bit. I think I know the answer but still want to ask: are they load-bearing? Or could they be removed? Can it be determined from the picture?
If it's as I think, does anyone have tips on another good solution to try to build in storage rather than have it open as it is today?

Thank you very much!BirgitS said:
I suspected this...
Well, that could have been a solution, but we are keen on having nice doors or drawer fronts in the front. But then it will be quite a bit of DIY to try to achieve a decent result instead of being able to use ready-made frames and doors.
