Attaching the door trim strips?

I'm going to attach door trim strips and I'm wondering if I can use the brad nailer or if I should use PL400 or regular finishing nails?

I've tried the brad nailer and it's very convenient, but I also get a mark on the trim where I shoot...

How do you do it?

I run a brad nailer. The combination models (for brads and staples) leave marks. I haven't had major problems with pure brad models.

Nail gun, then you can dab some latex into the hole and paint over with a bit of touch-up paint. Looks awesome!
