Expansion nails/tube nails are what I see most of at construction sites.

I usually use dowel pins in combination with a flat washer. They fit incredibly well and the small head of the pin does not risk going through the sill when the washer is in place.

I think it's 8x90 that I have used most often. It doesn't hurt to use longer ones, but my experience is that they fit so well that 90mm is enough if it's 45mm studs that need to be fastened.
