Attaching renovation plasterboard with gypsum mortar

I have read on the forum and Norgips' website about attaching 6mm renovation plasterboard to a brick wall using gypsum mortar. It seems incredibly convenient to me. At the hardware store I visited today, they advised against this because the damp gypsum mortar wets the plasterboard, making it porous (they thought I should use PL400). Does anyone have any experiences or comments on this?

Go to another building supply store.

The plaster mortar that Norgips has is specially designed for this purpose and it works great.

Works perfectly fine to glue plaster with plaster mortar, regardless of the manufacturer. I've also glued plasterboards with plaster putty and that works too. What nonsense that the plaster mortar would wet the plasterboard.

A regular bag of plaster mortar costs around 200:-. Good luck.

At another hardware store where the expertise seemed higher, they said it was completely fine but somewhat sensitive if the house shifts. They recommended tile adhesive instead, which I have used now. No problems at all getting the drywall up, and so far the boards are holding (like a rock).
