Hello!

My family and I are about to build a house, currently in the stage of deciding how it should look and everything related to it.

We have a wish to have a balcony exactly like the one in the link below, but our home manufacturer says that we need support legs for it to be safe. Right now, we have only planned for a French balcony but would prefer a smaller balcony that we can step out onto.

Does anyone have experience with this or any tips? We are, of course, prepared to choose that the home manufacturer does not deliver the balcony, but is there something we need to prepare inside the wall itself to secure this?

It is quite common to have various additions on fortresses, both balconies and towers. But I thought it was insanely expensive to build new ones.

Here is an example of how the INfästningen in a fortress is made:

Animated stone tower with balconies, blue flag, and character climbing. Swedish text overlay: "Vad håller du på med, hönshjärna?!".

Note, the text in the image is not for you :)

  • Old stone fortress tower with multiple rounded windows, featuring a complex infill and wall structure, surrounded by green grass and a blue sky.

It should be enough with studs at the balcony's fastenings. It shouldn't be a problem for the house builder to fix.

Thank you for the response.

I will take this up with the hustillverkaren again, so they can prepare with reinforcement in two selected locations.

I have a much larger balcony, through bolt with a large washer on the inside behind the wallboard and has been there since '79.
Your house builder PROBABLY doesn't want to.

It should work as well. I suspect that the house manufacturer doesn't have the ability or desire to solve this and then claim that it is too technically advanced and costly for us to get it the way we want.

I will at least ask them to draw that type of balcony on the building permit drawings so it's included there, and I can solve it later on.
