Hi.

I started thinking about something when I saw how the wind barrier was mounted on my kit.

The fabric is only attached with 28x70 boards every 60cm, which makes the fabric a bit loose in between.

I plan to spray insulate the entire structure. But I am then nervous that the insulation might be able to escape both below and above.

I then started nailing on a couple of batten pieces to keep the fabric in place. But just want to double-check if this is a good solution? Didn't feel like staples were a reliable solution.

Exterior wall of a building under construction with wooden planks and battens attached. Visible gap for ventilation and a covered pipe nearby. Gravel area at the base.

Wall of a wooden building with white siding and support battens tested for insulation tightening, visible with a nearby ladder and eaves.

A partially constructed building with white horizontal panels, exposed venting, and roofing material, capturing a DIY project scene involving wind barrier installation.

What I'm wondering about then is whether I "ruin" the ventilation behind the panel. The batten is 25 thick so there is a few mm clearance.

Yes, you disrupt the ventilation, but it is enough to set the depth of the circular saw to 10-15 mm and make three cuts in each compartment. This is usually done to prevent insects from getting in behind and you maintain the ventilation.

Thanks
Then I'll go on with more läktbitar and just make some air channels 👍
